Man With Dozens of Felony Theft Charges Arrested in Logan County

Two men, including one with an extensive felony theft history, were arrested Friday in connection with a theft investigation in Logan County, according to West Virginia State Police.

James Russell Robinson, 48, was charged with grand larceny and breaking. He also faces additional charges of conspiracy and destruction of property stemming from a separate arrest warrant, police said.

Troopers said Robinson has a criminal record that includes more than 50 theft-related felony charges.

A second suspect, Jason Allen Akers, was charged with conspiracy.

According to investigators, troopers were dispatched to a residence on Kelly Hollow Road in Blair following a report of a breaking and entering. Tire tracks at the scene led authorities to a vehicle hidden in a secluded area of Laurel Hollow, where the two suspects were located.

Police said approximately $4,700 worth of stolen property was recovered during the investigation.

Robinson is being held at the Southwestern Regional Jail on a $30,000 bond.
