Authorities have arrested a man following a double shooting in northwest Miami-Dade. on Jan. 5.
Wilmer Ulloa, 41, was charged with attempted murder and battery after allegedly shooting his nephew during an argument over women. Deputies say the dispute began while the two were driving home from work. Ulloa reportedly struck his nephew multiple times inside the vehicle.
The nephew left the car and walked home, but the confrontation continued. Ulloa allegedly fired a shot, striking his nephew in the shoulder, then turned the gun on himself, injuring his lower jaw.
Both men were taken to Ryder Trauma Center at Jackson Memorial Hospital in stable condition. Ulloa was booked into Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center, with bond yet to be set.
