Timothy Jerome Lewis, 44, of Michigan City, is facing a Level 2 felony charge after prosecutors allege a cocaine transaction occurred at a city park in Michigan City.
According to court documents, the incident allegedly took place on July 25, 2025, at approximately 3:31 p.m., when Lewis is accused of arranging and completing a cocaine delivery at Hansen Park.
Court records state Lewis arrived at the park as a passenger in a white Mercedes displaying an Indiana temporary license plate. Investigators said Lewis exited the vehicle, entered another car parked at the location, and handed over a clear plastic bag containing a white, powdery substance before returning to the Mercedes and leaving the area.
According to the probable cause affidavit, the substance was secured as evidence and tested using a TruNarc drug identification device, which produced a positive result for cocaine hydrochloride. Court documents said the substance weighed approximately 15.4 grams, including packaging.
Lewis was lodged in the LaPorte County Jail on January 6, 2026.
