Michigan Man Pleads Guilty to Child Exploitation and Voyeurism Charges in Alger County

A man from Grand Marais has admitted to multiple felony offenses, including child exploitation and secretly recording individuals, in a case that has raised serious privacy and safety concerns.

Guilty Plea Entered in Alger County Court

According to reports, Maxwell B. Lundquist, 30, entered a guilty plea during a court hearing in Munising. He pleaded guilty to three felony charges, including one count related to aggravated child sexually abusive material and two counts involving capturing images of unclothed individuals.

Lundquist had initially faced around 50 felony charges when the case was filed in December. He previously pleaded not guilty before changing his plea this week.

Investigation Triggered by Probation Violation

Authorities began investigating Lundquist following a probation violation last year. During the investigation, law enforcement seized several electronic devices that allegedly contained explicit content.

Officials reported discovering at least one video involving suspected child sexual abuse material. Investigators also found numerous recordings and images believed to have been taken without consent.

Hidden Recordings Found in Homes and Public Spaces

According to investigators, some of the material appeared to show neighbors inside their homes, captured through windows while they were unclothed. Additional recordings were reportedly taken in public restrooms, further expanding the scope of the case.

Sentencing Scheduled for April

Lundquist is expected to return to court for sentencing on April 13. Authorities have not yet disclosed the potential penalties he may face following his guilty plea.
