MASON COUNTY, W.Va. — An Ohio man is facing charges after authorities say thousands of dollars in tools were stolen from a utility trailer in West Virginia.
According to the Mason Metro Police Department, 26-year-old Shawn Austin Horne of Middleport, Ohio, has been charged with receiving and transferring stolen property.
Police said approximately $5,000 worth of tools were taken Monday from a utility trailer in Hartford, West Virginia. Following an investigation, officers recovered stolen property and made an arrest.
Horne is being held at the Western Regional Jail on a $25,000 bond.
Investigators said some items — primarily DeWalt-branded carpentry tools — may still be missing. Anyone with information related to the theft is asked to contact police at 304-733-5201.
