Deputies said a woman died in a fire Saturday night in Kanawha County.
The fire was reported around 7 p.m. near Creek Alley in the Marmet area after witnesses said they heard explosions and then saw flames and smoke, according to the Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office.
Marmet firefighters said two dogs also died in the blaze. Officials have not yet determined the cause of the fire.

Emergency crews responded to a house fire Saturday night in Kanawha County after reports of loud “booms” before the flames erupted, deputies said.
The fire was reported around 7 p.m. near Creek Alley in the Marmet area, according to the Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office.
Witnesses told officials they heard what sounded like “booms” before noticing flames and smoke. Authorities said it was unclear whether anyone was inside the home at the time.
Lens Creek Road was closed around 7:20 p.m. as crews worked at the scene.
Firefighters have since extinguished the fire and are continuing to put out hot spots while searching through the debris.
