The mother of “Today Show” host Savannah Guthrie, 84-year-old Nancy Guthrie, has been reported missing in Arizona.
According to Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos, a family member called 911 around noon on Sunday to report Nancy missing. She was last seen at her home in the Catalina Foothills area around 9:30 p.m. Saturday.
Sheriff Nanos described the situation as a “search and rescue mission, we hope” and said there were concerning circumstances at the home. Homicide detectives have also been involved in the investigation.
Nancy Guthrie is reported to be not in good physical health, raising “grave concern” for her safety. The search is ongoing, with efforts conducted both by air and on the ground.
Sheriff Nanos did not rule out foul play as authorities continue the investigation.
