Three killed, teen hospitalized following Leslie County mobile home fire

Three people lost their lives and a teenager was hospitalized after a mobile home caught fire Friday night in Leslie County.

According to Kentucky State Police Post 13, troopers responded just before 11 p.m. to a home along Highway 421 in the Hyden community. Fire crews were able to extinguish the blaze, but inside the residence they discovered the bodies of three individuals.

Authorities identified the victims as 56-year-old Lisa Marcum, 50-year-old Jadeana Begley and 84-year-old June Nantz, all residents of Hyden.

Members of the Thousandsticks Volunteer Fire Department said a teenager was also transported to the hospital for treatment related to the fire.

Investigators say no foul play is suspected at this time. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
