Triple Shooting at Taste of Miami Karnival Leaves 1 Dead in Little Haiti

MIAMI, FL — A late-night shooting at the popular Taste of Miami Karnival in Little Haiti left one person dead and two others injured, sparking an active investigation by the Miami Police Department.


Gunfire Erupts Near Main Stage

Police said the violence unfolded shortly before midnight on Sunday near Northeast 2nd Avenue and 62nd Street, close to the festival’s main stage.

Authorities were alerted through ShotSpotter technology, which detected gunfire in the area.


Witness Describes Panic at Festival

A witness described the chaotic scene as panic spread through the crowd.

“Everyone was enjoying themselves and all of a sudden I heard two shots and people were running,” the witness said.

The witness also reported seeing one victim lying unresponsive on the ground amid the confusion.


Three Victims Shot, One Dies

According to officials:

  • Three adult men were found suffering from gunshot wounds
  • All were transported to nearby hospitals
  • One victim later died from injuries

The identity of the deceased has not yet been released.


No Arrests as Investigation Continues

Police have not made any arrests so far, and the motive behind the shooting remains unclear.
