Two teens arrested after crashing stolen car in Ann Arbor

Two teenagers were taken into custody after allegedly stealing and crashing a vehicle in Ann Arbor early Thursday morning.

Crash near railroad tracks

According to the Ann Arbor Police Department, officers responded around 1:15 a.m. on March 19 to reports of a rollover crash near West William Street and South First Street.

When police arrived, the occupants had already fled the scene. The vehicle, later confirmed to be stolen from within Washtenaw County, was found crashed near nearby railroad tracks.

Teens located and arrested

Authorities later identified and arrested two suspects — a 14-year-old and an 18-year-old — both from Ypsilanti.

Police said the teens were the only individuals in the vehicle at the time of the crash and were not injured.

No police pursuit involved

Officials confirmed that officers did not pursue the vehicle prior to the crash.

Investigation continues

The case remains under investigation, and no additional details have been released.
