Friends and family held a candlelight vigil Tuesday night as they continued searching for Daniel Davis III, a South Side man who has been missing for two weeks following a car crash in Blue Island.
Davis, 59, was last seen on Nov. 26 around 6:30 p.m. after a crash near St. Donatus Parish, where he refused medical attention. Surveillance video later captured him in the area, and relatives believe he may have suffered a head injury.
Chicago police said Davis was last seen in person at 1:15 a.m. leaving the 115 Bourbon Street bar in Merrionette Park, where he worked in production. The vigil was held outside the bar.
“I’m stapling flyers of my missing dad to poles and thinking, ‘What am I doing?’” his daughter Wendy said. “He’s a man of routine — home, work, and one friend. That’s it.”
“He never missed a day of work,” another relative, Nick, added.
Wendy organized a four-zone search after the vigil, saying she doesn’t know whether her father is injured or facing a medical issue. “He would drop the world for me, and I wish he could see how many people are doing the same for him,” she said.
Davis is described as a white male, 5’8″, about 170 pounds, partially bald with some gray hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a black baseball hat, a black Harley-Davidson jacket, a red sweatshirt, and black jeans. Police said he may need medical attention.
The owner of 115 Bourbon Street said they have received many tips, and anyone with information is urged to contact Chicago police.
