Kris Warner said he was involved in a car crash Friday in Pendleton County but escaped without serious injuries.
In a social media post Saturday, the West Virginia Secretary of State said he experienced general soreness, a stiff neck and a headache, but was otherwise unharmed. He described being grateful for the people who stopped to check on him before emergency responders arrived.
Warner said the crash happened while he was traveling to Pendleton County for a voter registration event and to present three Centurian Awards. Despite the accident, he later confirmed he was still able to attend the event.
Photos shared in the post showed his vehicle overturned along the roadside. While he did not specify the cause of the crash, Warner said the towing company believes the vehicle is likely a total loss.
He also used the moment to remind drivers to wear seat belts every time they get behind the wheel.
