A 39-year-old woman was taken into custody after surveillance cameras captured her allegedly stealing from a classroom at an Orange County high school.
Officials with the Irvine Police Department said the theft occurred overnight on Jan. 17 at Woodbridge High School in Irvine.
“Surveillance cameras captured a woman taking several items from a classroom and fleeing the scene,” investigators stated.
Later the same day, Walmart loss prevention officers reported that a woman had also stolen from their store.
Using the department’s Real Time Crime Center, police deployed a drone and located the suspect, who was recognized by one of the center’s analysts as the same woman from Woodbridge High School.
Patrol units contacted the woman, identified as Tanya Elaine Marsh, a resident of Anaheim, and took her into custody.
Authorities have not released details about the items allegedly stolen from the school or the Walmart.
