Deputies said a vehicle pursuit in Charleston on Thursday afternoon ended with a DUI arrest.
Rebecca Marie Bosley, 41, of Elkview (formerly of Maryland), has been charged with fleeing while driving under the influence, according to Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office Sgt. Jeremy Burns.
Burns said deputies received a report around 4 p.m. about a woman slumped over the steering wheel at a gas station near the intersection of Greenbrier Street and Rutledge Road.
A detective who responded said he woke Bosley and noticed a bag and aluminum foil in her hand. According to the detective, Bosley attempted to conceal the items in her purse before starting her vehicle and driving away.
Deputies said a brief pursuit followed before Bosley pulled over along Greenbrier Street. Authorities said she admitted to using heroin and methamphetamine earlier that day.
Investigators reported finding needles, drug paraphernalia and suspected methamphetamine inside the vehicle.
Deputies also said a humane officer took custody of a dog that was inside the vehicle.
