A 49-year-old man has been arrested after police say he was caught peeping into homes, including residences of students near University of California, Riverside.
According to the Riverside Police Department, Roberto Clemente Rincon was taken into custody and booked into the Robert Presley Detention Center on several charges related to the incidents. Authorities said he was later released on bail in February and is scheduled to appear in court on May 13.
The investigation began on Feb. 2 after officers received a report of a peeping incident in a residential neighborhood near Watkins Avenue and the Interstate 215. During the probe, detectives discovered similar complaints filed by young women at UC Riverside in November 2025.
Police said Rincon allegedly parked his vehicle in neighborhoods and approached homes late at night, looking through windows. Investigators reported finding video footage that appears to show Rincon carrying out the acts.
Detectives believe there may be more victims and are asking anyone who recognizes the suspect or may have had a similar encounter to contact authorities. Residents can reach Detective Steven Espinosa directly or submit anonymous tips through the department’s Atlas 1 mobile application.
