Officials said a man was found dead in a creek in the northwest suburbs Monday morning.
The West Dundee Police Department notified the Elgin Police Department after a deceased person was located in Jelkes Creek near South 8th Street and Boncosky Road shortly before 11 a.m.
The Elgin Fire Department recovered the adult male’s body from the water.
The Kane County Coroner’s Office is scheduled to conduct an autopsy Wednesday to determine the cause and manner of death. Authorities are also working to identify the man.
No additional information has been released.
