Transportation officials announced that a project to install an overhead protection system will lead to lane closures in both directions on Interstate 64 near South Charleston beginning next week.
Crews will carry out the work at the Montrose Drive overpass bridge, with construction set to start Monday, according to a post from West Virginia 511 on social media.
Officials said the closures are necessary to install an overhead protection system beneath the bridge where Montrose Drive crosses over I-64 in South Charleston.
Interstate lanes are scheduled to close from 9 p.m. Monday until 6 a.m. Tuesday. Officials have not specified which lanes will be affected or how many lanes will close in each direction at one time.
The West Virginia 511 post also did not provide an estimated completion date for the project.
