Authorities in San Bernardino County are searching for a man accused of stealing a gold chain from a jewelry store in Victorville last week.
According to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, the incident happened shortly after 6:25 p.m. Thursday at a Kay Jewelers store on the 14000 block of Bear Valley Road.
Investigators said the suspect, wearing a gray “Thrasher” sweatshirt and a black durag, asked a store employee to see a gold chain. The employee removed the necklace from a display case and placed it around the man’s neck.
Deputies said the suspect then ran out of the store with the chain still on, fleeing before staff could stop him.
Authorities released an image of the suspect and are asking the public for help identifying him. Anyone with information is urged to contact the Victorville Police Station or the sheriff’s dispatch center. Anonymous tips can also be submitted through We-Tip.
