A woman was found dead inside a home in Twentynine Palms, and authorities have arrested a man in connection with her death, officials said.
Deputies with the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department responded around 8 a.m. on March 13 to the 6500 block of Adobe Road after receiving a call about a vehicle check.
When deputies arrived, they found a Toyota Tacoma parked in the area and blocking a gate near a local fire department facility. While investigating the situation, deputies were directed to a nearby residence in the 74900 block of Aladdin Drive.
Inside the home, authorities discovered two children who were alone in the residence, according to investigators. Deputies then searched the property and found the children’s mother, Jessica Phillips, 34, dead inside the garage.
Suspect arrested
Later that morning, authorities located Isaac Matthew Angel, identified as the children’s father, near the intersection of Sunrise Drive and Araby Avenue.
Detectives said their investigation determined Angel was responsible for Phillips’ death. He was arrested on suspicion of murder and booked into custody.
Officials said Angel remains jailed without bail as the investigation continues.
Investigation ongoing
The sheriff’s department is asking anyone with information about the case to contact the Specialized Investigations Division – Homicide Detail.
Authorities have not yet released additional details about the circumstances surrounding the woman’s death.
