Authorities have identified the man who died after being trapped under a vehicle in Florida City on Tuesday.
Officers from the Florida City Police Department responded just before 3:30 p.m. to a sick/injured person call at a home near the 300 block of Southwest Third Avenue.
Sky 10 flew over the scene shortly after deputies discovered 51-year-old José Raul Roque with critical injuries. Miami-Dade Fire Rescue responded and airlifted him to Jackson South Medical Center, where he later died.
Preliminary findings suggest the death was accidental, though the Miami-Dade Medical Examiner’s Office will determine the official cause and manner of death.
Authorities confirmed that next-of-kin notifications were made, and no further information is available at this time.
