DeMotte Man Charged After Bar Disturbance, Threats Toward Officers

A 32-year-old DeMotte man, Ochirnyam Erdenechimeg, is facing multiple felony and misdemeanor charges after a disturbance at a local bar escalated into threats against police and a physical struggle.

According to a probable cause affidavit, officers with the DeMotte Police Department responded to Holley’s Bar, located at 804 S. Halleck Street, around 8:23 p.m. on Jan. 7, 2026, after reports of a disruptive patron. Officers made contact with Erdenechimeg inside the bar and observed signs of intoxication, including slurred speech. He admitted to drinking alcohol.

Bar staff and patrons expressed concern about his behavior, and Erdenechimeg was told he was no longer welcome for the evening. The affidavit states he refused several voluntary options to resolve the situation, including speaking with a mental health professional or leaving with a family member.

Erdenechimeg later agreed to a preliminary breath test, which showed a BAC greater than .127. Officers advised him he was too intoxicated to drive and began making arrangements for a family member to transport him home.

Police say Erdenechimeg then became verbally aggressive, raised his voice, and walked into Halleck Street, described as a busy roadway, creating a danger to himself, officers, and passing motorists. He allegedly shouted profanities and caused a public disturbance.

According to the affidavit, Erdenechimeg refused lawful commands, raised his hands, advanced toward officers, and continued yelling in the roadway. When officers attempted to take him into custody for disorderly conduct, he resisted by tensing his body and pulling away.

During the struggle, Erdenechimeg allegedly made repeated threats toward officers, stating he would “beat our fucking ass” and “fucking kill us.” The threats were directed at identifiable officers performing their official duties.

Due to continued resistance, officers deployed a TASER to gain compliance. Erdenechimeg was eventually handcuffed. Deputies involved sustained minor injuries during the incident.

He was evaluated by Keener Township EMS and cleared for incarceration. Police say he continued making threats toward officers after being cleared, again stating he was going to “fucking kill us.” He was then transported to the Jasper County Jail without further incident.
