A grieving father in Saginaw is reaching out to the community for support after the sudden and heartbreaking loss of his 15-year-old son.
Trent Hill died unexpectedly on March 29, 2026, at a residence on Annesley Street. Emergency responders, including police and paramedics, were dispatched to the scene, but authorities have not yet released the official cause of death, pending autopsy results.
The teen’s father, Chad Hill, has launched a GoFundMe campaign titled “Honoring Trent Hill’s Memory With Love” to help cover funeral expenses. In his message, he described the unimaginable pain of losing a child and the emotional toll it has taken on their family.
“As a parent, I never thought I would face something like this,” Hill shared. “Having to bury my own child is a pain beyond words.”
Trent, the eldest of two children, is remembered as a joyful and energetic teenager who loved spending time with family and friends. He enjoyed playing video games and was known for his bright smile and positive spirit that left a lasting impression on those around him.
His father noted that the unexpected tragedy has created a deep void in their lives, and without life insurance in place, the family is now struggling to afford funeral arrangements.
Hill is asking for community support during this difficult time, emphasizing that any contribution—no matter how small—will help ensure his son receives a respectful and dignified farewell.
As of April 4, the fundraiser has raised over $4,400 through dozens of donations, reflecting an outpouring of support from the community.
Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding Trent’s death.
