Florida Man Pleads Guilty in Virtual ATM Fraud Case in Jackson County, Michigan

A Florida man has pleaded guilty in connection with a fraud scheme involving virtual teller machines in Jackson County, Michigan, authorities confirmed.

Teandre Tyron Jasper, 32, entered a guilty plea on April 28 to one count of illegal use of a financial transaction device, according to court records. A second, similar charge was dismissed as part of the plea agreement.

Jasper, a resident of Miami Gardens, Florida, is scheduled to be sentenced on June 15. He is currently out on a $10,000 bond.

Investigators say Jasper targeted customers of True Community Credit Union by posing as a representative of the institution. He allegedly contacted victims and persuaded them to share sensitive banking details, including account information and Social Security numbers.

Using that information, Jasper visited credit union branches in Blackman and Summit townships in March 2025, where he accessed Interactive Teller Machines—ATMs equipped with live video support—to withdraw thousands of dollars from victims’ accounts.

Authorities said the fraud was quickly detected, allowing investigators to identify Jasper and arrest him before he could leave the state. A significant portion of the stolen money was recovered due to the swift response.

Officials continue to emphasize the importance of safeguarding personal banking information to prevent similar scams.
