Saginaw Man Charged After Alleged Drunk Driving Crash Into Sports Bar

A man from Saginaw is facing criminal charges after authorities say he drove intoxicated and crashed a minivan into a local sports bar—just months after a previous DUI-related incident.

Crash Damages Popular Sports Bar

The incident occurred around 11 p.m. on  December 17 at Grand Central Sports Bar and Grill. Emergency responders arrived to find a white Chrysler Pacifica that had slammed through the bar’s patio, causing part of the roof structure to collapse.

Driver Pulled From Wreckage

The 28-year-old driver, who was the only person inside the vehicle, remained trapped in the minivan after the crash. Fire crews were able to safely remove him without using specialized rescue equipment.

Prior DUI Case Under Investigation

Prosecutors revealed that the suspect was already wanted on a warrant tied to an earlier drunk-driving case at the time of the collision. The latest charges stem from the December crash, which caused significant property damage but did not report additional injuries.

Legal Proceedings Ongoing

Authorities have not released further details about court dates or additional charges, but the case highlights ongoing concerns around repeat DUI offenses and public safety.
