A San Jose speech therapist providing in-home care for a toddler was arrested after allegedly sexually assaulting the child, police reported.
The San Jose Police Department said officers responded on January 28, 2026, after the child’s mother reviewed home surveillance footage showing her toddler’s behavioral technician sexually assaulting the child at least once during their sessions.
The department’s task force on crimes against children launched an investigation and identified the suspect as 23-year-old Benjamin Amlicke, a San Mateo resident employed by Fremont-based Center for Speech Language, Occupational and Behavior Therapy (CSLOT). Police said the company was notified and cooperated fully with the investigation.
Amlicke was arrested on January 29 in San Mateo by detectives and plainclothes officers and booked into the Santa Clara County Main Jail for alleged sexual assault of a minor. Authorities said they are investigating the possibility of additional victims.
A spokesperson for CSLOT stated:
“We are deeply disturbed by the reprehensible actions of this former employee. Our thoughts are with those affected, and we recognize the seriousness of the situation.”
