Troopers made two arrests after stopping a vehicle on Interstate 81 and finding two girls who had been kidnapped from Tennessee.
According to a press release issued Monday morning, state police were alerted to the kidnapping just before midnight on Sunday.
Troopers later located the suspect vehicle, a 2025 gray Nissan Rogue, near mile marker 440 on I-81 north in South Middleton Township.
State police said both girls were found safely inside the vehicle.
Two adults, identified as Henry Rodriguez, 36, of Allentown, and Ana Rodriguez Gonzalez, 60, of Tamaqua, Pennsylvania, were taken into custody.
Troopers said both individuals were transported to Cumberland County Prison, where they are being held while awaiting extradition to Tennessee. Authorities have not yet said what charges they may face.
State police did not disclose the relationship between the girls and the two people who were arrested.
