A vacant home in the Larchmont neighborhood of Los Angeles was heavily damaged by a fire Sunday afternoon before firefighters were able to bring the blaze under control.
According to news from the Los Angeles Fire Department, the fire was reported around 2:20 p.m. at a single-story residence in the 500 block of North St. Andrews Place in Larchmont.
More than 100 firefighters responded to the scene and battled the flames for just over an hour before fully extinguishing the fire.
Fire officials said crews conducted both primary and secondary searches of the structure and found no victims inside. Search dogs were later requested to carry out a more thorough inspection of the property as a precaution.
Authorities said no injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation, and arson investigators were called to assist with the case.
Video from the scene showed a large plume of black smoke rising from the home as firefighters worked to control the blaze. Aerial footage taken after the fire was extinguished revealed the charred remains of the structure.
