$10,000 Reward Offered for Information on Two Separate Chicago Murders

Authorities are offering a $10,000 reward for information that leads to arrests in two separate murder investigations.

Police said both fatal shootings occurred on Jan. 18.

The first shooting happened around 4:30 a.m. in the 6400 block of South Drexel Avenue. According to police, an unknown offender approached 36-year-old Kiara Jenkins and fired multiple shots, striking her several times. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

The second homicide took place around 9:17 p.m. in the 11800 block of South Michigan Avenue. Police said 37-year-old Troy Hollingsworth was sitting inside his vehicle when an unknown offender approached and opened fire. He later died from his injuries.

Area detectives continue to investigate both shootings.

Cook County Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of up to $10,000 for information that leads to the arrest of those responsible.

“Violence like these cases tears at the fabric of our communities,” said Paul Rutherford, executive director of Cook County Crime Stoppers. “Someone out there knows what happened. We are urging that person to do the right thing and share what they know. Your information could bring justice to these victims’ families and help make our neighborhoods safer.
