Two people were hospitalized after a multi-vehicle collision on the 210 Freeway in Glendora Tuesday evening, which sparked a car fire and caused traffic backups for miles.
California Highway Patrol officers responded to reports of the incident in the eastbound lanes near Sunflower Avenue around 5:40 p.m., officials confirmed to KTLA.
Details about the cause of the crash remain unclear, but aerial footage from Sky5 showed a minivan or SUV, which had been towing a U-Haul trailer, both sustaining extensive damage after firefighters extinguished the flames.
Traffic was backed up for miles as investigators worked at the scene. The CHP issued a SigAlert, closing the eastbound 210 Freeway HOV lane along with the No. 1 and No. 2 lanes. All lanes reopened just before 8:30 p.m.
Authorities have not released information on the age or gender of the two hospitalized victims, only confirming they were rushed to a hospital in unknown condition.
