Suspect in Little Village Father-Son Double Murder Captured in St. Louis

CHICAGO — A Chicago man wanted in connection with the November 2025 murders of a father and son outside their Little Village jewelry store is now in custody. Chicago police and the United States Marshals Service announced that 35-year-old Muhammad Thomas was arrested Tuesday in St. Louis, Missouri, after months on the run. He has since been extradited back to Illinois. Thomas faces two felony counts of first-degree murder in the Nov. 8 shootings of 25-year-old Luis Angel and 63-year-old Faustino Alamo Dominguez. The father and son were working inside their family jewelry store in the 3800 block of West 26th Street when prosecutors say Thomas burglarized the business. Surveillance video showed the victims attempting to stop Thomas from fleeing before they were shot and killed. Authorities said that when U.S. Marshals arrested Thomas in St. Louis, they found two guns inside a pillowcase that matched shell casings recovered from the Little Village crime scene. Investigators also learned Thomas allegedly had two minors with him in a Maserati that was later set on fire. In addition to the double murder charges, Thomas is facing nine total charges across separate felony cases and had three active warrants for his arrest. Prosecutors say he is also accused of shooting and seriously injuring a 26-year-old man during a July 28, 2023 carjacking near the 1700 block of Maypole Avenue on the Near West Side. He is further accused of robbing a pawn shop at gunpoint on July 16, 2024, near the 2400 block of West Cermak Road in Marshall Square. Prosecutors said DNA evidence was recovered in that case. Thomas was not present for his Friday detention hearing because he is undergoing treatment for medication and withdrawal at a local hospital. His detention hearing has been rescheduled for Tuesday, March 3.
