Former Lexington firefighter faces new fraud and theft charges in multiple remodeling cases

A former firefighter in Lexington is facing additional criminal charges after multiple homeowners accused him of taking large payments for construction work that was never completed.

Jeremiah Littrell, 43, has been charged in several new cases after authorities say more victims came forward following initial allegations earlier this year.

Prosecutors claim Littrell accepted significant payments through his company for home renovation projects—including kitchen cabinets, windows, flooring, and bathroom remodeling—but failed to deliver materials or finish the work.

In one of the largest cases in Fayette County, officials say a homeowner paid more than $127,000 for a renovation project that was never completed, with no materials delivered. Other reported losses range from about $9,300 to $14,000 for unfinished jobs.

Investigators also allege Littrell issued multiple bad checks to suppliers, including thousands of dollars owed for cabinets that were never collected.

The case first came to light after a complaint in late 2025, when a homeowner reported paying over $60,000 for remodeling work that was left incomplete. Since then, additional complaints have surfaced across multiple counties, including Bourbon County and Madison County.

Littrell, a former member of the Lexington Fire Department, retired in February 2026 after serving since 2009.

He now faces multiple charges, including theft by deception and theft by failure to make a required deposit, with several cases involving amounts exceeding $10,000.

Court records show Littrell is scheduled to appear for upcoming preliminary hearings in multiple jurisdictions, as authorities continue to investigate additional complaints tied to the case.
