One person was killed and several others were injured in a shooting at a Sunoco gas station at Pembroke Road and DeSoto Drive, authorities said.
According to the Miramar Police Department, the incident began when a Mercedes was parked at the pumps and a person approached the vehicle, sparking an altercation. Moments later, an exchange of gunfire occurred.
Three people were struck by bullets. One victim was pronounced dead at the scene. Another injured person fled the gas station and was later taken to a hospital, while a bystander also struck was transported to a trauma center.
Police are searching for a fourth individual believed to be involved in the confrontation, described as slim-built and wearing a gray hoodie.
Investigators said two people connected to the Mercedes, including the deceased, were involved, but the motive and exact sequence of events remain under investigation.
Miramar police continue to gather evidence and are urging anyone with information to come forward.
