I-4 Blowout: Lakeland Motorcyclist Airlifted After Serious Tuesday Crash

A 55-year-old Lakeland man was airlifted to the hospital Tuesday afternoon with serious injuries after a motorcycle crash on Interstate 4.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the crash occurred at 12:55 p.m. in the westbound lanes just west of Branch Forbes Road.

Troopers said the man was riding a Harley-Davidson when the motorcycle experienced a sudden tire failure. The mechanical issue caused him to lose control and overturn on the highway.

Emergency responders arrived quickly and airlifted the rider to a local hospital for treatment. His current condition has not been released.
