LAPD investigating 2 hit-and-run crashes that left pedestrians with severe injuries in December

The Los Angeles Police Department is investigating two separate hit-and-run crashes in December that left pedestrians with severe injuries.

The first incident occurred on Dec. 12, 2025, around 6 a.m., when a dark-colored vehicle traveling westbound on 9th Street near the Fashion District struck a pedestrian crossing Maple Street. The driver fled westbound on 9th Street without stopping. The victim, whose identity has not been released, was taken to a hospital with severe injuries by Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics.

The second crash happened on Dec. 29, 2025, at approximately 1:50 a.m., near Bonnie Brae Street and 6th Street in the Westlake District. Police say a black Honda sedan traveling north on Bonnie Brae veered right and collided with a parked vehicle, which then struck a pedestrian standing nearby. The driver fled north on Bonnie Brae. The victim was rushed to a hospital with severe injuries.

Authorities have not indicated that the two crashes are connected.

Standing rewards of up to $25,000 are being offered for information leading to the identification, arrest, and conviction of the suspects through the Los Angeles Administrative Code’s Hit-and-Run Reward Program Trust Fund.
