Authorities on Tuesday identified a 75-year-old man who was struck and killed by a vehicle while walking across a street in the Florence area of Los Angeles.
The fatal collision was reported at about 5:49 p.m. Sunday at the intersection of San Pedro Street and 83rd Street, according to a Los Angeles Police Department spokesman.
Police said the vehicle was traveling northbound on San Pedro Street when it struck the pedestrian, who was walking westbound within a marked crosswalk.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver remained at the location following the crash and cooperated with investigators.
The Los Angeles County Office of Medical Examiner identified the victim as Estanislo Garcia.
