More than $4M in Drugs, Guns, and Cash Seized in Chicago-Area Bust; Convict Arrested

A convicted felon arrested during a Chicago drug bust now faces multiple felony charges, Chicago police announced Wednesday.

The CPD’s Gang Investigation Division recovered several firearms and over $4 million in suspected narcotics after a six-month probe into drug trafficking in Chicago and surrounding suburbs.

During a search conducted Saturday, Jan. 10, officers seized narcotics valued at an estimated $4.3 million, five firearms, and roughly $54,000 in cash.

As a result, Cook County prosecutors charged 36-year-old Travis Taylor with the following:

  • One felony count of methamphetamine manufacturing – 900+ grams

  • One felony count of manufacture/delivery of 900+ grams of cocaine/analog

  • One felony count of manufacture/delivery of 900+ grams of heroin/analog

  • One felony count of manufacture/delivery of 900+ grams of fentanyl

  • One felony count of manufacturing 900+ grams of ecstasy/analog

  • One felony count of manufacture/delivery of 30+ grams of ketamine/analog

  • One felony count of manufacture/delivery of 100–400 grams of cocaine/analog

  • One felony count of cannabis – manufacture/delivery of 2,000–5,000 grams

  • One felony count of possession of a controlled substance

  • Five felony counts of unlawful use of a weapon by a felon (repeat offender)
