Two Critically Injured After Stolen Vehicle Crashes on Southwest Side

Two individuals were critically injured early Wednesday morning after a crash involving a stolen vehicle on Chicago’s Southwest Side, police said.

The crash occurred shortly after 1:15 a.m. in the 3500 block of West Marquette Road in the Chicago Lawn neighborhood. Officers on patrol noticed a vehicle that had crashed into a viaduct and responded to the scene.

Police later confirmed the vehicle had been reported stolen. The two occupants, both males believed to be in their late teens, were taken into custody following the crash.

Both suspects suffered severe injuries and were transported to a hospital, where they remain in critical condition. No other vehicles were involved in the incident.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation, and charges are pending.
