Two Men Wounded in Afternoon Shooting in Roseland

Two men were injured in a shooting Saturday afternoon in Chicago’s Roseland neighborhood, according to police.

The incident occurred shortly after 3 p.m. in the 10700 block of South Indiana Avenue. Police said the victims, ages 31 and 45, were standing near a sidewalk when three unidentified men approached them.

Authorities reported that at least one of the suspects pulled out a firearm and began shooting, striking both men. The suspects then fled the scene in an unknown direction.

The 31-year-old victim suffered two gunshot wounds to the leg and was transported to the University of Chicago Hospital, where he was initially listed in stable condition.

The 45-year-old man was shot in the arm and taken to Roseland Hospital. He was initially reported to be in fair condition.

Area Two detectives are investigating the shooting.
