Warren man pleads guilty to distributing child sexual abuse material in Macomb County

A 32-year-old man from Warren has pleaded guilty to multiple charges related to distributing child sexual abuse material, authorities said.

Guilty plea entered in court

According to the Macomb County Prosecutor’s Office, Richard Call entered his plea on March 18 during a pretrial hearing before Circuit Court Judge Julie Gatti.

He pleaded guilty to three counts of distributing child sexually abusive material, each carrying a potential sentence of up to seven years.

Investigation details

The case began after a tip was received in November 2024 by the Michigan State Police Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, prompting an investigation.

Authorities later confirmed that Call used a computer to distribute the illegal material, with activity verified on June 4, 2025.

Sentencing and penalties

Call is scheduled to be sentenced on May 12. As part of the expected penalties:

  • He must register as a Tier II sex offender for 25 years

  • He will be listed under Wyatt’s Law, a database tracking individuals convicted of crimes involving children

  • He will forfeit the devices used in the offenses

Prosecutor’s statement

Macomb County Prosecutor Peter Lucido emphasized that distributing such material contributes to ongoing harm and exploitation of victims.
